In 1985 the Regional Natural Reserve of Bergeggi was created,then from 2007 a Marine sanctuary to protect wild nature from chalky cliffs which alternate in small recessed beaches cut off by caves like the Grotta Marina and the Grotta del Treno which make it an enchanting place.
