The municipality territory of Tiglieto in the Upper Orba Valley includes the hamlet of Acquabona and among many others that of Casavecchio(chief town) measuring a total of 24.54 km2.
Together with the nearby villages of, Acquabianca, Mogliole, San Gottardo and Vrigna, it is located in the heart of the Apennines of Liguria and is part of the Regional Nature Park of Beigua.
In and around the abbey of Santa Maria alla Croce, in Pian della Badia, we can find a characteristic fauna and flora habitat, with plant species of EU interest like the Cerestium Utrinse and the l'Alyssoides Utriculata ,on the Orba river bed.
The surrounding mountains are the perfect destination to reach; Mount Calvo, the Tosou and the Campanile or travel along the river Orba and its splendid valley, as far as a height of 1000mts.
